Healthy Regular Diet

In people having abdominal problems, it is very important to follow seven simple rules when you eat:

     1. Eat three small meals a day, never over eat, even at weekends

     2. Try to always eat at the same time, sitting and without being in a hurry in relaxed surroundings

     3. If possible rest for at least 15 minutes after eating

     4. Stop drinking alcohol (except in very small amounts!)

     5. Avoid excesses of anything i.e. tea, coffee, coke, fizzy drinks

     6. Try to be consistent, no binges

     7. Eat a balanced diet, which includes some roughage.

When you have abdominal problems, particularly if you aren’t constipated, you may find it best to reduce the roughage in your diet until the problem settles
